During the adoption of resolutions in the Bundestag (And also in other institutions) different majorities are differentiated:
Simple majority
Majority of the delivered votes, that means the number of the "Yes" votes exceed those of the "No" votes, abstentions are not rated. (standard case in the Bundestag, if there is no other regulation, Article 42 II GG)
Absolute majority
Majority of the legal number of members (Article 121 GG) (standard case in the Bundesrat, if there is no other regulation) (Article 29 VII, 68 I, 115a GG)
The absolute majority is also called Chancellor majority, because the Federal Chancellor will be elected or dismissed with this majority.
Simple twothirds-majority
Two thirds of the delivered votes (Article 42 I, 77 IV, 115a GG)
Qualified twothirds-majority
Two thirds of the legal number of members (Article 79 II, 61 I GG)
